AI for banks and insurers, without exposing customer data
Complaint letters, claims files, credit memos, KYC reviews: AI can speed up the work, but every document carries customer identities and account details. Hidden Tokens codes them before the AI reads anything.
- IBANs from any country (checksum verified), BIC/SWIFT codes, card numbers, policy, claim and cheque numbers and customer names are coded on your computer.
- Regulators, institutions and contract vocabulary stay readable, so the AI can still reason about the file.
- The same customer keeps the same code across every document, and across the organisation with the shared registry.
- Admins push the rules to every workstation; the coverage report shows which machines are protected.
The tension in financial services
Banks and insurers have strong reasons to adopt AI (backlogs of complaints, claims and reviews) and strong reasons to be careful: banking secrecy, data protection law and supervisors who ask how customer data is handled. Blocking AI pushes staff to personal tools. Hidden Tokens offers the middle path: the AI does the work, the customer stays anonymous to it.
What the banking and insurance pack codes, and what it keeps readable
| Coded | Kept readable |
|---|---|
| Customer, beneficiary and policyholder names | Regulators and supervisory bodies |
| IBANs (any country), BIC/SWIFT, card numbers | Banks and insurers of the market |
| Policy, claim and cheque numbers | Contract terms and product vocabulary |
| Addresses, emails, ID and company numbers | Dates, rates and, by default, ordinary amounts |
Typical uses
- Complaints: drafting a response from the customer's letter and account history.
- Claims: summarising a claims file and checking it against the policy wording.
- Credit: structuring a credit memo from financial statements, with figures hidden behind a secret factor if needed.
- Card disputes: reconstructing a chargeback case from transaction journals.
Our benchmark includes IBANs, card numbers, a payment journal and a chargeback dispute: every identifier was coded.
Frequently asked questions
Does it recognise foreign IBANs?
Yes. IBANs from any country are recognised and validated with their check digits, and a domestic account number and its IBAN get the same code.
Can we enforce it across branches?
Yes. With the Organisation plan, an administrator signs a policy (rules, packs, forbidden items) that every workstation applies, the browser extension can be force-installed by group policy, and key escrow means a lost machine never loses a file.
Is Hidden Tokens a DLP tool?
Not exactly. A DLP tool blocks data from leaving. Hidden Tokens lets the work leave without the identities: the AI gets a usable, coded document instead of a refusal.
